Stainless Steel Pleated Filter Cartridge for Harsh Service

This stainless steel pleated filter cartridge uses woven wire mesh or sintered stainless steel fiber felt formed into a pleated cylindrical pack. The folds increase the available filtration area within a compact cartridge diameter, while the metallic media provides mechanical stability and allows repeated cleaning. SS304 and SS316L are available with filtration ratings from 5–200 μm, common cartridge lengths from 5″ to 40″, and 222, 226 or customized threaded end configurations. Pleated metal cartridges using wire mesh and sintered fiber media are established for reusable filtration where polymer cartridges may be unsuitable.

Typical applications include chemical process liquids, hydraulic and lubrication oils, and elevated-temperature liquid or gas filtration. Wire mesh is suited to cleanable surface filtration, while sintered fiber felt provides a deeper porous medium with greater contaminant-holding potential. Backwashing, ultrasonic cleaning or compatible chemical cleaning can be used according to the contaminant and cartridge construction, making the element suitable for reusable industrial filtration solutions in demanding process conditions.
